New Year Goal Setting

2023 is now just around the corner, and the new year is always a fantastic time to set goals in all areas of your life. Here are some goals we think are worth setting and sticking to in 2023.

Keep your Workspace Tidy and Organised

There’s nothing better than an organised and clean workspace, so why not commit to keeping your workspace clutter-free and organised so you can be as productive and motivated as possible throughout the school year and beyond?

Ensure You’re Getting Enough Rest

Sleep is essential to having a healthy mind and body and working to the best of your ability. Sleep has a positive effect on speed, accuracy, and reaction time. If your body isn’t adequately rested, you’ll be unable to think as clearly and may become sensitive, moody, or irritable.

Research has shown that it’s best to go to bed and wake at the same time every day, so try to set up a sleep schedule for yourself and stick to it as much as possible.

Get Regular Exercise

Did you know that sticking to a regular exercise regime will raise your energy levels, combat stress, reduce fatigue and improve your overall well-being? In turn, you become more effective and efficient at work and in all areas of your life.

To make it as easy as possible to stick to exercising throughout the year, choose a form of exercise that you love. It might be Zumba, yoga, running, spin classes or something entirely different. Choose something you love, and you’ll be less likely to give up come to the end of January.

Take Stock of Your Career

A new year is a great time to assess your career and whether you’re happy in your current role or want to seek a fresh opportunity. If you think now could be the right time to search for a new position or career, Revised Recruitment is here to help. With over 1600 schools across Wales, there are many opportunities for teachers, teaching assistants and support staff to make their mark. You don’t need any previous experience or training for many of our roles, and with full and part-time positions available, you are bound to find something that fits your schedule.

Write your Goals Down

Research has shown that writing your goals down significantly increases your chances of achieving them. Write down your 2023 goals in a dedicated notebook, and you can set smaller goals on the way to helping you achieve bigger ones. For example, if one of your goals is to run a marathon, you can start by running 5k, 10k, 15k and so on until you can build up to the total marathon distance.

Remember, not all goals have to be lofty achievements, as even the slightest change can make a big difference in your life. Choosing achievable goals also makes them easier to work towards and stick with. So, whether you want to commit to making your bed each morning or getting a new job, you’ve got what it takes to do just that in 2023.
